Take Advantage of Opportunities

There are always opportunities for aspiring writers to venture into. For those seasoned writers the lead list may be more prevalent and accessible. It would do you good to subscribe to the latest and trending blogs that are informative with such information. The Writers Knook will be featuring upcoming events and contest that you may have interest in.

The greatest asset to the writer is the community social news papers such as Creative Loafings and Magazines that support the craft such as Poets & Writers. There are many resources listed within these two. It would also be good for you to join as many social groups that are fitting and tailor made for your expertise of writing. Stay in the know and be apart of the Writing environment and community that comes alive when the Pen meets the Pad.

Try Facebook and Twitter as connecting sources to stay in the loop of current interactions with writers of like minds. Allow yourself to get out and about in the community when Festivals and Art corrals come into town. Staying relevant in this industry is what will keep you going and flourishing. So get started and make the best of your day making sure you have all your connections in place to move forward in your writing career. GOOD LUCK!

Keeping the Creative Flow Going...

Often times as writers and intuitive creative beings, there will come a time in your life, when your creative juices will seem to cease. Don't be alarmed it's normal!! I call it writers block. There are many ways to deal with this type of situation.
  1. Ignore the state and explore by continuing to write a little everyday..even if it's just words of thought that don't really have meaning of expression.
  2. Give yourself some time and just take a break from creative writing
  3. Force yourself to write like never before to break through the silent state
These suggestions are only a few that I have done at many different times. The one that I feel works best for me is number 3! 1 and 2 were done at times when I felt I could afford to take breaks or be gentle with my spirit on this matter. 3 came when I knew I was in a funk & had to come out! The only way of doing so was to FIGHT and WRITE by any means necessary. So I wrote of my current life situations, how I felt about it, how others made me feel, how they treated me, how the situation effected me etc.

I made my life experience become the subject of my written word. I used words of thought and affirmations to inspire, encourage, and sometimes even persuade me into doing what I knew I had to do. When you are truly a creative writer within your spirit it's usually what helps you cope, live, maintain, stay alive; by all means. If that be the case you must protect this craft and nurture it at all costs.

I created 2 beautiful novels during times when I felt I had writers block... I created several poems that later in turn encouraged me to press on through my trials in life. I have created several short stories just to keep my mind going and sharp. Somethings I have created may never see the light of day, but that is okay. That just means it was an assignment just for me.

So take some time within your life today to see where you are in your time and space. Are you in a state of writers block? Do you want to come out? Or would you rather just linger in a world of limbo with your words of thought being left in the dark? You choose today.. Your thoughts are relevant in life and someone somewhere is waiting to hear it, read it or even speak it. It is up to you on whether or not they ever get it.
Well there you have it... Today's rendition of Keeping the Creative Flow of Writing Going!!!
